Terms of Service
Last updated: 29 May 2025
1. About The Human Radio
The Human Radio is an audio-first platform operated by The Postal Club, where people share short, ephemeral audio moments with strangers around the world. It is a space for quiet human connection — not a social network, not a mental health service, not a podcasting platform.
By using The Human Radio, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use The Human Radio. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, please do not use this platform.
3. Your Account
When you create an account, you choose a pseudonym — the name others will see. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon deletion, your broadcasts and personal data will be removed within 30 days.
4. What You Can Broadcast
The Human Radio is built for genuine, atmospheric human moments. You may broadcast:
- Ambient sounds from your environment
- Quiet spoken thoughts, reflections, or stories
- Original music or original spoken word
- Sounds of daily life — kitchens, walks, rain, trains
5. What You Cannot Broadcast
To protect the atmosphere and safety of all listeners, you must not upload content that:
- Contains hate speech, discrimination, or content targeting individuals or groups based on race, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, or nationality
- Harasses, threatens, or intimidates any person
- Encourages or glorifies self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders
- Contains explicit sexual content
- Infringes the copyright or intellectual property rights of others
- Contains spam, advertising, or promotional content
- Is designed to deceive or mislead listeners
- Violates any applicable law or regulation
We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms and to suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly do so.
6. Ephemeral Content
Broadcasts on The Human Radio are temporary by design. Most broadcasts expire automatically after 24, 48, or 72 hours as chosen by the broadcaster. Once expired, broadcasts are permanently deleted from our systems.
We are not responsible for the loss of any broadcast content due to expiry, technical failure, or account deletion. Please do not upload content you cannot afford to lose.
7. Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of the content you upload. By uploading a broadcast, you grant The Human Radio a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to store, stream, and display your content to other users of the platform for the duration it remains live.
You confirm that you have the right to share any content you upload, including any music, speech, or ambient sound it contains.
8. Not a Mental Health Service
The Human Radio is a platform for ambient human connection. It is not a mental health service, crisis line, therapy platform, or substitute for professional support.
If you or someone you know is in crisis, please contact a relevant emergency service or mental health organisation in your country. In the UK, you can contact the Samaritans on 116 123. In the US, contact the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988.
9. Limitation of Liability
The Human Radio is provided on an "as is" basis. We make no warranties about the availability, reliability, or accuracy of the platform. To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Postal Club shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.
We are not responsible for the content uploaded by other users. If you encounter content that violates these terms, please report it using the report function.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes by email. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
