Community Guidelines
Broadcast with kindness. Listen with care.
The Human Radio exists because loneliness is real, and human presence — even at a distance — matters. These guidelines exist to protect that presence for everyone.
The spirit of this place
The Human Radio is not social media. There are no follower counts, no likes, no viral mechanics. Nobody is trying to build an audience here. We are simply people sharing quiet moments with strangers — and strangers listening.
The emotional atmosphere of this platform is fragile and precious. Everything in these guidelines is designed to protect it.
What we welcome
- Authentic moments — rain on windows, late night thoughts, quiet kitchens, train journeys, birdsong, silence
- Emotional honesty — loneliness, grief, hope, reflection, joy — all of it, held gently
- Original spoken word — poetry, stories, observations, letters never sent
- Ambient sound — the texture of your world, shared without explanation
- Quietness — you do not need to be interesting or entertaining. Just present.
What we do not welcome
Some things break the atmosphere. Others cause real harm. We take both seriously.
- Hate speech — content that attacks people based on who they are will be removed immediately and the account suspended
- Harassment — targeting, threatening, or intimidating other users
- Self-harm content — content that encourages, glorifies, or provides methods for self-harm or suicide. If you are struggling, we want you here — but as someone who is heard, not harmed.
- Explicit sexual content — this is not the place
- Spam and promotion — advertising, promotional content, or anything designed to drive traffic elsewhere
- Performance culture — influencer behaviour, audience-building, vanity content. If you are thinking about how many people will hear this, you may be in the wrong place.
- Copyright infringement — do not broadcast music, audio, or content you do not have the right to share
On vulnerability
Some of our emotional channels — Loneliness, Grieving, Starting Over, Healing — attract people in genuinely difficult moments. This is not a problem. It is part of why this platform matters.
If you broadcast from a difficult place, you are welcome here. Please know that The Human Radio is not a crisis service. If you are in immediate distress, please reach out to a professional service in your country.
If you are listening and you hear something that concerns you, please use the report function. Our moderation team will respond with care.
On ephemerality
Your broadcasts disappear. This is intentional. It means you can share something real without it following you forever. It means the platform stays fresh. It means the moment you shared was real, and now it has passed — like all real moments do.
Please do not try to circumvent the expiry system. The impermanence is part of what makes this place honest.
Reporting and moderation
Every broadcast has a report function. If you encounter something that violates these guidelines, please report it. We review all reports and take action where needed.
Our moderation philosophy is: protect the atmosphere first, grow second. We will always err on the side of keeping this place safe and quiet over keeping it busy.
Repeated violations will result in account suspension. Serious violations — hate speech, harassment, harmful content — will result in immediate permanent suspension.
A final word
“Someone else is awake too. Somewhere, a light is on.”
That is what we are building here. A place where you can feel that. Please help us protect it.
